Frank:
A Real Survivor

Frank's story
began near a trailer packed with over 70 dogs. Puppies were stuffed
inside an oven. Conditions were simply horrible. Outside, another
50 languished miserably. Frank was one of those.
Luckily, Animal Control lifted Frank out of this shocking scene.
He had multiple problems, including heartworms, gauntness, and
horrendous facial injuries. Those wounds had never been treated,
leaving the left side of his face in terrible condition. It was
clear this young dog was going to need a lot of tender loving
care.
Frank was first taken to a shelter, then a sanctuary, and finally
to an indoor home at Holly's Place. Here, Frank began to trust
and bond with people. His fear melted away as he adjusted to his
new surroundings and family. Frank had never even been inside
a home before, but it didn't take him long to select his favorite
couch to sleep and lounge on.
Dogs
who grow up in conditions like Frank did never get to be pups,
so it's no surprise that Frank is like a large puppy. He's tall
and gangly but wants very much to be a lap dog. He is very eager
to please and over time has learned about being house-trained,
eating his food more slowly, and playing with other dogs. He is
great with all the other animals, including cats, but really prefers
a special human friend to call his very own. When one grows up
in a family of 120, you long for individual attention and love.
Frank's face continues to heal nicely, and we know just the right
home, with a great couch for Frank, is just around the corner.
